WCSM DERBY LUNCHEON 2024
The Derby Luncheon 2024 was held at the Nunnlea House on Hurstbourne Parkway. The theme honored the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby, “1-5-0 … Baby Let’s Go.”
The buffet lunch was catered by WCSM member Judy Mayfield and included tomato sandwiches, benedictine on cucumber slices with bacon crumbles, country ham spread with crackers, hot brown casserole, cheese grits, roasted asparagus, ham on rolls, smoked salmon with toast points, and salad. The deserts were bourbon bread pudding, derby pie, bourbon balls and strawberries and pineapple with whipped cream. Everything was delicious!!
After lunch the members then played Derby bingo and a “pass around” game with prizes. Then we gathered to sing My Old Kentucky Home. The lovely table centerpieces were given away. A raffle was held and the members went home with their prizes.
Below are the raffle items on display. All of the net profit from the luncheon will be donated to a local charity to be decided at the May business meeting.
There were several guests present and two of them joined. A third is planning to join in the immediate future.
Everyone had fun and went home with great memories of the day!
