Meet the Author
Local female veteran, Ms. Carolyn Furdek, author of the book; Locked-In: A Soldier & Civilian’s Struggle with Invisible Wounds, spoke to members and visitors about her journey through war, her relentless search for answers, and an eventual diagnosis and treatment she and her providers now hope to share with other.
Ms. Furdek is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and was a NCAA Division 1 swimmer. She served three deployments over the course of four years in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan.
