Combining efforts for conservation and education, the Woman’s Club of St. Matthews members created doggie chew toys and key rings from used t-shirts collected from various sources. The products were then taken to the St. Matthews Street Festival where they were given as a ‘thank you” to any festival goer who made a $2.00 donation to the Woman’s Club scholarship program.
Even though the day started out rainy and cold, the sun came out and so did the festival goers, who very generously donated to our scholarship program.
Many visitors stopped at our booth, donated to the scholarship fund, made their pet happy with a new chew toy, found a new ring for their keys, purchased a raffle ticket for the beautiful quilt , and even walked away with a cute tattoo.
A win-win day for all who were there.
