Keep us, oh God from our pettiness;

Let us be large in thought , in work, in deed,

Let us be done with fault-finding

And leave off self-seeking

May we put away all pretense

And meet each other face to face,

Without self-pity and without prejudice.

May we never be hasty in judegment

And always generous.

Let us take time for all things;

Make us grow calm, serene, gentle.

Teach us to put into action our better impluses,

Straight forward and unafraid.

Grant that we may realize it is

The little things that create differences,

That in the big things of life we are at one.

And may we strive to touch and to know

The great, common human heart of us all

And, oh Lord God, let us forget not

To be kind!

[efitems title=”The American Creed.” text=”I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy, in a republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign states; a perfect Union, one and inseparable, established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore, believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to respect its Flag, and to defend it against all enemies.
