The General Federation of Women’s Clubs Kentucky (GFWC KY) consists of nine districts throughout the state. Each fall these individual districts hold a district conference were all federated clubs within the particular district meet. At these conferences, clubs share happenings within their particular clubs, network with district club members, receive information from state officers, and participate in an arts, crafts and photography contest.
The Woman’s Club of St. Matthews is located in the designated 3rd District, which is bound by Jefferson County. The 3rd District consists of 6 federated clubs.
Arts, Crafts and Photography Contest
The entries in the Art Contest for Clubwomen were on display and judged. First prize winners in each category move on to the state contest in the Spring.

2017 3rd District Conference Speaker
The district clubwomen were fortunate to hear from speaker, Carolyn Furdek, a local female veteran who graduated from the United States Military academy and was a NCAA Division 1 swimmer. She served three deployments over the course of four years in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan and the fight that remained upon her return home with invisible wounds.
