Bill Bell, Director from the Louisville Department of Transportation was our Environmental speaker.  Mr. Bell oversees the planning, development and management of Louisville Metro’s transportation systems to ensure safe, efficient and accessible mobility for all residents.  The department takes care of road construction and maintenance; manages Louisville Metro Government road construction projects; transportation planning; snow removal on over 2,700 two-lane miles of road per treatment; manages solid waste removal and recycling; and operates and maintains more than 1,000 traffic signals.

Many of the finished and current improvements to the local streets were discussed.  Some of the members shared their experiences and opinions regarding the changes. Everyone learned a lot about how and why certain improvements are made.
