Terry Chambers

The Club met at St. Matthews United Methodist Church to see Terry Chamber. Terry brings history to life through immersive storytelling, captivating audiences with rich, accurate portrayals of past events and figures. Her engaging performances transport viewers to another time, making history not only educational but also entertaining and unforgettable. 

Terry portrayed Delia Webster, an American teacher, author, businesswoman and abolitionist in Kentucky who aided many slaves to escape. In 1854 Webster bought a farm along the Ohio River in Trimble County, Kentucky and operated it as a station on the Underground Railroad. She later moved to Indiana.

Terry advised that she is planning to portray Mary Miller who was America’s first female licensed steamboat captain who was from Louisville’s Portland neighborhood.
