Goodwill Industries of Kentucky

Goodwill’s mission is to help people with disabilities or other challenges achieve and maintain employment to gain a better quality of life.  They give people a hand up, not a handout, so they can experience the dignity and independence that comes from earning a paycheck and achieving self-sufficiency.

Geographic reach:  Goodwill has a presence in 103 of Kentucky’s 120 counties.  There are Opportunity Centers across the Commonwealth.

They operate 67 retail locations, including 13 in Jefferson County.  90 cents of each dollar generated in the stores support mission related work.  Donations that do not sell at the retail  centers go to the Goodwill  Outlet on Preston Highway.  They also sell products online at http://shopgoodwill.com.

The Excel Center is Kentucky’s first tuition-free high school for adults.  It features drop-in childcare, transportation assistance, accelerated classes, and a life coach.
