Veterans Hospital Door Mural
WCSM donated funding to provide all project supplies for a mural to be painted at the local Veterans Hospital.
The mural was painted, by a local artist, on the inside of the main door to the 7 North Psychiatric Unit for woman veterans.
Two goals were achieved with this interesting painting.
# 1 The mural helps to disguise the exit door from the patients, detouring them from congregating in the area or attempting to leave the unit without permission.
# 2 Due to many safety issues, many wall decorations on the ward are not allowed. The mural brings some color and personality to the patients sparse surroundings.

In appreciation of the WCSM funding for the creation of the Mural, and for continual support of the Veterans Hospital 7 North Unit with donations of clothing, journals, reading glasses, art supplies, games and puzzles, and more, the VA Directors invited WCSM members to attend a presentation of a certificate to recognize the clubs efforts.
