Dr. Patti Weiter, psychologist and certified Yoga instructor presented a program on managing stress in our busy and hectic world.
Dr. Weiter talked about Mindfulness- Based Stress Reduction Techniques, which includes meditation relating to areas such as body scan, mindful eating, progressive muscle relaxation, and how to deal with distractions during meditation. A handout booklet was distributed to those in attendance outlining Factors for Managing Stress, Suggestions for Daily Practices, and a Pleasant Activities Tip Sheet.
An abbreviated session of Chair Yoga techniques was demonstrated and participated in by club members and guests.
